This is a painting I made of Tokyo at night. I had limited supplies and cramped spaces while painting in Japan, so I learned to paint things quite small for economy of space.. in fact, micro-format.

My tools were a flat 1-inch brush for broad strokes and an eye liner brush for the details. All of my paints and supplies were purchased at Daiso which came to under ¥1000 or about $10 US. Just in case you’re wondering, I didn’t use the jeweler’s screwdriver to paint with 🙂
